ScriptSpot has moved
ScriptSpot went online in May 2000 as a set of hand-written ASP pages. It moved to Drupal in 2007, and to Drupal 6 in December 2009, where it stayed. That's a long time for a website to stand still. It was time.
The new site is a full rebuild: new platform, new database, new search, new file hosting. The move is done. What's still coming is everything that lets you take part again.
What came across
All of it. This was not a selective migration.
- Every post. Scripts, plugins, tutorials, MCG tools, news, and every forum thread. Nothing was pruned, deprecated, or quietly dropped for being old or unpopular.
- Every comment and every vote, still attached to the post and the person they belong to.
- Every tag, exactly as the community wrote them over two decades.
- Every file. Script archives, plugin builds, images and attachments, all re-hosted and all verified against a checksum taken from the original before upload. If a file downloaded yesterday it downloads today, byte for byte.
- Every URL. This is the one I'd most like you to check. Old addresses were preserved verbatim rather than regenerated, so bookmarks, forum links, and a decade of Google results all still resolve to the same page they always did.
- Every account. All of them came across. Yours is here.
Search is also much better, which is not a small thing. Multi-word searches used to fail outright on the old site. They work now.
What isn't back yet
Sign-in is off. Nobody can log in, comment, vote, edit or post right now, including me.
That's deliberate. While the site stays read-only, the migration can still be re-run and corrected. The moment the first new comment gets written, that stops being true. So the archive gets a stretch of real traffic to shake out whatever the move got wrong, and then the doors open.
The timeline
I'm one person building this around a job. I've front-loaded the work deliberately so it gets finished rather than dragging on. Here's the honest order:

| Next | Sign-in and account claiming. No passwords, just a link sent to your email. |
| Then | Commenting, and editing your own posts, with full version history behind it so no edit is ever unrecoverable. |
| Then | New submissions and file uploads. |
| After that | The design pass. The site will stop looking like this. |
Target for sign-in and posting: early fall. That's a target from someone with a day job, not a release date from a company. I'll update this page as each piece lands so you can see where it actually is instead of guessing.
Found something broken?
Twenty-four thousand old addresses got remapped, partly by hand. Some of them are wrong. If a link is dead, a file won't download, or a page renders badly, tell me. It's the most useful thing anyone can do for the site this month.
Include the URL you were on. That's usually all I need.

Aug 11, 2026 — The archive is live. Every post, comment, vote, tag and file is on the new platform. All old links redirect. Search is working. The Drupal 6 site has been retired.
Twenty-six years is a long time for people to keep showing up for a niche corner of one piece of software. The archive was worth this much work because all of it is yours, not mine. Thanks for sticking with it.
