voronoi structures... no inner faces ?

Hi guys, Not really a script request but more picking the brains of the scripting elite ;)

I've been trying for days now to produce a voronoi structure consisting only of the faces needed for the internal structure.

All of the voronoi scripts and plugs are great for fragmenting meshes but what I need is just enough faces to reproduce a 3D voronoi structure.

Imagine if you could voronoi fragment a mesh then weld all the vertices leaving you with one single mesh with no double faces.

Hope I'm making sense, can anyone suggest how I might do this ?
