Snap a selected object/group to cursor in order to move

Hi,

I'm looking for a script that allows me (with a click of a button) to attach a selected object/group to my cursor in order to move it on the X/Y axis. With a single click i like to place the object/group then.

I'm hoping somebody can help me with a script. I could not find any other thread about this.

1. Select the objects you want to move.
2. Press the Spacebar. It will lock the selection. The little padlock icon at the bottom of the UI will become yellow.
3. If the Select and Move tool is active hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse. The selected objects will be moved.
4. When the objects are placed at desired position press the Spacebar key again.
