Description

SUBJECT: script to import/export imprudence (1.4 beta) xml to secondlife/opensim for 3dsmax...

Question: would it be possible to create a script for 3dsmax
to import/export imprudence (1.4 beta) xml (prims)to secondlife/opensim....
this way you can build offline (no sandboxes and auto-return)
and build in SL and opensim...

would be cool :)

Why?

It is so easy to build in 2nd life, using their tools. I had a partner and we had 4-islands fully populated with New England seaside style homes (salt box thru Victorian) many of which we built ourselves. Door lock scripts and other household related items are a no brainer. I must admit that I started out looking for a format (.dxf) that would let me import my AutoCAD 3D models onto my islands, but dropped the idea very quickly.

OpenSim xml or OAR to fbx or 3Dsmax

I'd pay for a script to convert XML - OAR - IAR into FBX or 3dsMax/3ds formats

export from opensim/secondlife to other 3D formats

This would allow the simple but powerful 3d inworld building tools in opensim. Its a excellent low poly (prim based) modelling environment. All the scripts only allow export from 3dsMax to Opensim/secondlife, not the other way around.

steps:
convert data from opensim format xml or OAR: prims, positions and texture data to true polygons and export associated texture bitmaps

convert to any one or all of these :- fbx, 3dsmax .3ds, collada, dxf, obj, etc...
