optimize selected polys

but i don't explain me correctly.
I would like to "merge" polys (like lightwave), and for that I use "optmize"(in max) with "auto edge" checked, so edges between coplanar faces are removed.
BUT in max I can't find any solution to do this just on selected faces..

(I should named thread :"want to merge selected coplanar faces...)
