Edit with soft selection

Hi, i'm working on some new parametric architecture form, quite simple form, and i was wondering if exist a way to use the edit function of edit poly with soft selection.
I mean for example: make an Insert where the red faces have a larger opening than the nearest faces covered by soft selection, or have the possibility to make a vertex chamfer where the red vertices have a bigger value than green vertices, or the same thing with extrude and bevel.
