Attach objects by the same prefix

I am looking for some script which allow me to attach objects by same prefix.

I will try to explain in better way what am I looking for.
I have a lot of geometry with different names and i would like to perform batch attach.
I have geometry with specific names:
001 box001
001 box007
001 sphere002

002 box006
002 sphere001

I would like to attach them without typing any data or selecting objects to get only two objects:

001 box001
002 box006

I hope i eplain it:)
