A option that other softwares have that i like to see in max. Better workflow.

Hi.

I tried cinema 4d for some time and i have to say there many things there that I would like to see in 3ds max.

One of those things is that I like in C4D and other softwares, is that if you have a
selected polygon you dont need to have the mouse over the polygon to
extrude it, you can simply click anywhere on the work area to use the tool.

In max i need to lock the selection to be able to do that.

This might not be the answer you're looking for (apologies if its obvious)...

Have you tried just activating the extrude mode while in epoly? Once active, as you click / drag on your model it extrudes the face. No need to select / lock - just click and extrude...

As far as your specific question. I haven't done enough epoly scripting myself to know whether you can make it work the way you want. I would imagine it could be done, just don't have the time to research/implement it for you right now...
