"1) Select all model hairs and run this script.2) When spline is selected hit the "Pivot to Hair Coordsys" button.3) Once the pivot is aligned to the Hair Coordsys hit escape.Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each spline as it is selected.Once the last spline is selected then the original selection is selected."
