Description

This script was developed due to a better usability of 3dsmax's material editor.

Several features are included up to now:

-- resetting the material editor and refilling all slots either with standard-max, vray and mental ray materials

-- deleting all materials within the currently opened scene

-- recovering the initial material state after object creation of a selected object

-- doing 3rd option in inverted mode

-- switching the materials of 2 selected objects

-- quick save of either one obj or all obj's of the current scene to a .mat-file

I cant seem to get mine to work. Im using max 2009 64bit, no clues as to why it wont work. Any ideas to what the problem could be? or is there a proper place for such questions?

thanks Im really excited about getting this working.

Its a macroscript. you cant just run it like a normal maxscript.

with windows explorer, put it in max folder\ui\macroscripts and then also drag it on to max (nothing will appear to happen)
then in the customize>customize user interface dialog under categories you will find "tobyatwork_scripts" and it will be there. you can add it to a quad or menu or whatever you like.

Back for an update :)
Just letting you know it works great with max 2009, and vray 1.5.

Still think this tool deserves higher rating also.

I'm glad, you like this

I'm glad, you like this tool. Aye, this 'Global' raytrace material messes things up often, especially if you're working with V-Ray.

You might have noticed that I updated and extended the script a bit more. Feel free to use it.

It's quite usefull when you receive ACAD models that come with the 'Global' material (the one that unifies everything in gray), and want to reset all to the very begining.
