This maxScript generates a mirror ball. I wrote it for fun, as part of some project related RnD.
There are a few parameters for you to play with, and it's a lot faster than building one by hand. But be warned things can get a little slow with a lot of mirrors. You can download it as part of my maxScript pack.

nice script. lasttly I had to make a disco mirror effect on a custom object... would it be possible to load a custom object? that would be so cool.

Custom objects are next on the todo list. But, I've got quite a busy couple of weeks ahead, so it may take a while to finish the code.

I've rewritten a chuck of code to make it faster. The new code also helped me add a random rotation to each mirror.
Re-download and install my scriptpack to get the update.

Those pFlow plugins do look cool.
I might borrow some ideas from your pFlow operator to add to my script.
