Yes, this shows the micro-characteristics of fabrics, if you have 1 layer of the same fabric. The thing is that fabric is mostly on another material or has a certain weave/thickness (pillows, blankets, clothes, etc) and consequently it behaves quite unexpected. Even simulators often don't quite catch these details; I also have Marvelous Designer in which it takes quite some time to get the right behaviour/look. That's why a manipulator like this could be interesting, but would make it also necessary to see the real behaviour by trial.

But like with the other (PC), it would be nice to have a trial. The critical thing with cloth related tools, is how you can customize the fabric. Satin completely behaves differently from cotton or thick wool, and this can not be simulated with another brush but should be in the "physics"-settings. Maybe a video that shows this?
