This script convert .max files to older max versions.
Thanks Borislav, is very powerfull but there isn't work in 3dsmax 9.
This version solve the paths and the back-slash problems in max 9.

Apologies, but I just found out what the specific problem is.
Say I have a multi-sub with 10 materials... when i run the file in max4 it shows the material having 10 materials, but instead of making them "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10" what its doing is bumping the numbers up once "2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11".

This is odd, indeed, then. I had a multi-sub with 15 materials, and it only transfered over 13. It cut out the first material and something like the 8th. All of them were standard materials using only two bitmaps. I wonder if it was something in the naming of them.

I'm not really sure why or how, but when I use this script to export an .ms file from Max9, and run it in Max4.2, it screws up the order of my multi-sub object's materieal :-/.

I really need to salvage as much animation from SEVERAL max2008 files and Hopefully get them to transfer over to Max9 files...:(
