Yes i agree, this option can be the solution of our problem. We can review and hide the controller setting with this. We can fix this problem and we can find panel from a option when we need to have it for some changing.

User interface similar to Thinking Particles 4 :) i like it!

But, script need more cool presantation video. Maybe skyscraper glass elements, iron spider place on glass. Look like this,

Looks like a wonderful script and you should very proud of it. However my first impression is the interface work flow. Like many other scripts/plugins the interface gets in the way of max. All that moving windows around really adds up in time and stress.

I think an interface should be as compact as possible

You are absolutely right! I think one solution could be an option which makes it possible to hide the controllers settings panel on the right side so you can just see the settings if you need to, also controllers can be selected from right click menu instead of a separate dialog box.

Having problems with the tool:

1. the units used for length transformations are no real world units - my 3DS units are however metric. There is thus a permanent source of conflict between used units here or there.

2. the arrays created with the linear incremental input do not behave as described. Changing the number of items in the array to less items drops a copy without re-arranging the whole distance. Increasing the number of items is without effect. Moving the first or last item doesn´t result in a re-alignment of the array like in arrays created by a linear total input.

No idea which is the source of this misbehaviour of this type of array. As an information: it is running on 3DS 2011 and Windows Vista.

Can I do anything with this demo version ?

I was in the middle of creating a tool like this (pulling my hair out trying) and here it is! Great tool.

I just upgraded to windows7 and now my license file does not work. I downloaded it again and put it in Scripts/startup after a clean Max install but it is still in demo mode.

What can I do?

I am in the process of evaluating this product to see if it would be a valuable addition to the arsenal of tools at the company for which I work. I watched most if not all of the tutorial videos and the potential seems great for this product, I have played around with it for a bit and I am very impressed

There are a few things I would like to get some clarification on before making the recommendation:

1. I could not find an easy way to distribute objects along paths with set distance increments. I assume that I would be able to mimic completely the features of the inbuilt spacing tool were I to plunge into the scripting portion of your tool, but before I devote any time to do that I just want to make sure it is possible.

2. The functions of this tool would seem much more usable as a modifier. Is this something that could happen in the future?

I appreciate your work and thanks for giving time to evaluate Parametric Array.
You are absolutely right. There is no measurement tool that allow you to specify the distance between the objects. But inside codes I have inserted some parameters that let me to add this function when you upgrade to new version. Parametric Array has extremely extendable core. Currently I'm working on new interface which holds these functions as extra options.
Regarding your second comment , I have two ideas. One approach is to implement the functions in C++ and get a modifier like Advanced Array in Blender. Second option is to create a plat form that users can make their own plug-in as result of current array. this would be something like FAMILY objects that you can make in Revit. I really like to discuss this with everyone who is interested. we have made a face book page for these sort of discussions and you are welcome to send your comments there (or on my blog.)

Very nice and looks extemely promising, I downloaded the script, installed as directed, a dialog box came up saying this version is a demo and to copy a licence request and email it for a licence, do I need a licence?
Can I use the script without one?

how to install?

permanent installation(recommended): Extract the files from archive folder and copy them under script/startup.
if you have a license file then copy it as well.

On demand installation : if you don't want the parametric array comes up automatically then run the script form utility bar on demand.

Hi Torabi, I whant to say that this is the best script I have seen in my life,,, I study Architecture in Spain and work with 3d max for about 7 years... but Rhino plugins like paneling tools and Armadillo are the two mean reasons to migrate to this aplication....(and say good buy to a very good friend)...
I use to visit scriptspot... and finding this script is like a response to all my prayers....I cant wait...

For the Replace command you can simply change the object from modify panel by pressing "Pick Object" button.

Unfortunately this version doesn't work for max 9, but we are working on it, there are some functions that has to be made manually in max 9 and that makes it hard a bit.
We are going to have official members that can download the license file from our website. for membership there will be a fee. we aim to keep it minimum as we can but you always can download demo version for free. more explanation will come soon.

this is by far one of the greatest array scripts ever made!
i cannot wait to try it!

the only thing i can think off, too bad it is not a plugin! I can see it being slow to animate with more than 100 objects :(

i LOVE to duplicate and rotate, its what i do most! When is the release date? I will be happy to betatest ^_^

we have so much to do , this is just beginning. Regarding animation use I have to say you might be right. however this tool has been made mainly for modeling purpose. let's give it a try I think it's fast enough.
we are making download page and some fixes so I think you can have it by end of May.
