AutoModeller Pro is an incredibly advanced, game-changing, native and heavily multi-threaded plugin(C++) for 3ds Max (2010-2022). It allows you to apply or paint a group of meshes as "geometry texture" onto your existing 3ds Max scene geometry.

AutoModeller Pro distributes the objects of the "geometry texture" on the surface of the target object guided by the target object's own UV mapping, this is similar to displacement mapping, except you are using actual 3ds max objects as source objects / "geometry textures".

All of these objects can also be sliced, soft-sliced, scaled, deformed at the borders or wrapped around curvatures. Multiple such "geometry textures" can be combined on a single target object during painting using a "replacement brush" (that uses collision detection), also note how the objects are sliced and also capped at the borders(here using paint brush randomisation):

You can also paint any geometry texture on any object in the scene, without any complicated setup procedures! For handling enormous scenes AutoModeller Pro supports instances and proxies,a multi-threaded attach modeto generate a single mesh- that makes it easier to generate proxies, and the preview Mode Tool automatically hides target geometry you’re not currently working on(during painting).

AutoModeller is also capable of wrapping an object around another curved object in real-time, like on this cylinder :

And there's even a stairs-mode /stairs-brush to quickly create stairs:

In the following example we paint a geometry texture onto a cylinder, this works similar to the clone-brush in a 2D painting tool:

A very useful feature in AutoModeller Pro is the UV-Island detection during painting, which lets you quickly fill an entire UV-island of your target object with a single click, also it automatically replaces any objects that have been there previously:

Generally automodeller "remembers" everything you have painted so you can delete it while holding ALT during painting or make individual adjustments to an individually painted object:

After you painted some stuff, AutoModeller Pro can automatically update the resulting objects whenever you change the base geometry of your target object and notice how the objects are "soft sliced"when the UV of the target object is changed:

AutoModeller Pro brings incredible value to any 3D Artist working with 3ds Max, if you haven't done so already check out the demo version on our homepage. There are a lot more features in AutoModeller Pro, you can learn about over at

The private/freelancer

The private/freelancer license is actually 300€ not 500€(this is for studios and includes 2 workstation licenses) btw. Yes we are already in the process of creating more example scenes and such, it will just take some time to be completed.

..

yeah put it in the hands of artists, but I dont feel like giving out out free advertising if I'm gonna spend 500eur on it..

- as I said the tool looks great, if you spent 3 years doing the tool, spend something and present it in a way we can see all of the strengths (and weaknesses)..

- or sponsor a few good artists so you can use their works (or continue advertising the same grey tiled demo)

Cool. Can´t wait !

Cool. Nice to hear that.

As for Real World examples...Put a version on the hands of some artist and they will make it for you for free. ;)

If there´s a list, put me in ! lol (Yes, i am begging)

That is because still

That is because still relatively few people are using it and those who do are mostly studios. As a small company we don't have the same marketing reach as the big companies, which means much fewer sales a month, which in turn means we need a higher price to make up for that.

The tool took about 3 years to develop, it's using very advanced and fast algorithms(we basically wrote our own boolean algorithm), it's all c++, highly optimized code and it took a lot of effort to get it going the way it does.

Selling such a tool for < 100€ would not allow us to keep developing it(considering the resources it takes (money/time) to develop such a software), with just a few sales every month this is simply not possible when it's priced below 100€. In our experience dropping the price does not increase the amount of income at all, you'll have slightly higher sales but much less total income.

Regarding "real life examples" we are going to add some new examples that show a variety of possible usage scenarios soon, however what you do with the tool is up to the individual user. It's just like a paint brush, what you paint with it is up to you.

The purpose of the demos you see here and on the homepage is to show you that the tool works and you can interchange those geometry textures with anything you can conceive of(grass, bushes, different sorts of bricks/stones). You can even remodel any existing 2d textures you have and turn a lowpoly model into a high poly model.

As I said, we will soon add more examples and at some point there will be a basic version of the software for a reduced price, but might be a little while.

pricey and no real life examples

.. it works and looks great, but I haven't seen anyone on the web showing off something spectacular, just the demo repeating itself..

- yeah, some lower price version would be in order, I'm hooked, but not that much

Thanks, yeah we are probably

Thanks, yeah we are probably going to make a basic version of AutoModeller at some point for a more affordable price.

Expensive... ;(

I am on the same boat. I think it´s an amazing piece of code, and valuable tool, but a bit expensive for single artists... I would buy it in a beat if the price is lower.
Tested the demo and the wizardry is true ! It works !
